Bridging the gap between talent and opportunity for Chicago's future

This website is proudly built and powered by apprentices.

OUR MISSION

Talent is equally distributed. Opportunity is not.

The Chicago Apprentice Network is working to bridge the gap by raising awareness of apprenticeship and helping more businesses establish successful apprentice programs to offer more opportunities to more people in Chicagoland.

Since 2017, the Chicago Apprentice Network has grown from three founding companies – Accenture, Aon and Zurich North America – to more than 110 companies across multiple industries.

Our members include forward-thinking employers and apprentices who represent diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. Together, we’re fueling innovation, inclusion and excitement in Chicago’s economy.

Explore how apprenticeships can brighten our shared future.

What are apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships are “earn-and-learn” programs that combine formal learning (e.g. in-person, virtual or computer-based training) with paid, on-the-job training experiences. Businesses design apprenticeships in a number of ways, but the common thread is that they are mutually beneficial. Apprenticeships provide individuals with high-quality career pathways while helping employers develop their workforce for the needs of tomorrow. Apprenticeship is a win-win approach for a bright future of work.

BETTERING CHICAGOLAND

We’re proud we have created more than 2,000 apprenticeships in the Chicagoland area -- doubling our original goal since our launch in 2017.

Now we want to help every company, large to small, to offer apprenticeships, benefiting from the infrastructure that has been built and the successful models to date. By combining paid, on-the-job training with targeted education, apprenticeship opens doors to promising careers and promising talent.
